Attention NJB Families: Very Important Information from SCUSD

To our SCUSD Community,
 
You may have received a letter today from Sacramento City Unified School District containing an Enrollment Verification Form to Obtain Schools Meals, along with an LCFF Income Survey.
 
We regret to inform you that during the mailing process, a mail merge error occurred and did not match the student record with the address and name of the recipient.
 
We deeply regret this oversight. We apologize to all students and families involved.
 
We are taking steps to be sure that it never happens again. Please know our district is currently experiencing COVID-19 related staffing challenges in our effort to protect staff and the community’s health and safety. This is not an excuse, but a reality of our current working environment.
 
This was an issue of human error, and we sincerely apologize.
 
This communication was sent prior to USDA’s August 31 announcement that verification was no longer needed to obtain free school meals. Families should discard the letter and are not required to complete this form. However, families are encouraged to complete the LCFF survey.
 
We understand that this occurrence could make you question whether your student’s information is vulnerable. Please know that fortunately the student information which was sent in the letter cannot be used to access student materials or records – in-person or online. Additionally, our students’ personal information is secure and protected by unique passwords and would require documentation or identification to access in person.
 
Again, we deeply regret this oversight and apologize to our students, families, and community.
