oday, the Department of Education approved an eight day extension to the 2024/25 and 2025/26 school years to make up for education minutes lost in the 2022-2023 school year. NJB is on a modified year round schedule; therefore, our school year will begin on August 5, 2024. The August 19th start date is for schools on a traditional school year.

While I recognize that this may be frustrating or interrupt summer plans, it is also an opportunity for additional learning which will benefit students. Please adjust your schedules accordingly and plan to have your scholar at school on August 5th.

Next week, I will post the school calendar for the 2024 and 2025 school year along with a list of planned events. It is important we come together as a school community, embrace the mission and vision of our school Charter, and set an intention to make our little school a welcoming and inclusive place for all our scholars and families.
